See My Paintings At Black Spruce Gallery
This summer, a number of my original watercolors are on show and for sale at Cheryl Tuck Tallon’s Black Spruce Gallery. The Gallery is located in Lake Country north of Prince Albert, SK. You’ll find it on highway #2 at Northside.
When I was vacationing in that area for a week in July, I stopped in at the studio to visit with Cheryl. While I was there took a few photos and thought I’d share them with you.
Poppies on The Rocks is one of six large sized fully framed and matted paintings. You’ll also find images with these names: Pausegarden Lantern, Kapasiwin Coffee Time, Boreal Brilliance, Lucky Spruce and Deep Woods Autumn. The gallery has limited wall space and rotating shows through the season. So if you don’t see what you’re looking for, be sure to ask and the friendly gallery staff will be glad to pull them out of the temporary storage are for you to view.
You’ll also find another 16 original matted watercolors in the smaller size range – ready to frame yourself. Many of these images are ones that I’ve painted on location during my time at Waskesiu Lake with titles like: Up From The Lake, Stumped By The Birch, Kayaks On The Water, Moon On The Water, Birch On The Beack, Two Spruce Hanging Lakeside, and many more.
Cheryl has also stocked a supply of my watercolor book, Sketches of Saskatoon, so you can pick up a copy of that little gem while you’re visiting.
The Gallery is home to the work of many other artists, including Cheryl’s very own acrylic paintings. Much of the work is inspired by lakeland country and cottage life.
If you’re up that way, be sure to drop in at the gallery and take a look for yourself.
PS – On my July visit to Waskesiu Lake, I spent an afternoon sketching and painting from the kayak on the water, and then wrote this message that was featured in a recent edition of the Vacationland Newspaper. Thought you might enjoy having a look at it.
